Princess Tea Party

We had a princess themed tea party for my daughter's birthday. I made the dress part of the cake out of 3 round cake pans and cut a hole for the Barbie. Silly me, apparently they make a cake pan for this. Now you tell me. I was fortunate enough to find a barbie who had a plastic top on for her dress. This saved me the hassle of making a dress top out of fondant. and my daughter's play dough factory had flower molds.

I hung a couple of window scarves from the light fixture to create a drape. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were cut into flower shapes with cookie cutters, and fresh fruit was arranged into flower patterns. A fruity drink was made using frozen berries, crushed ice, ginger ale and sugar to taste. I sugared the tops of the glass and added a bright colored straw. I forgot to put a strawberry on the side of the glass.

I Googled and found a demonstration on how to make carrot roses. Super easy and cute! (By the way 1 large carrot does about 12 roses).

Ring pops served as a napkin holder. Each girl got a boquet of candy flowers and the flower headband was made from plastic headbands, silk flowers, and floral tape.

Hey, an only girl with four brothers, we have to stock up on the feminine moments!
