Medicine Closet Reinvented

My custom cabinet doors broke off my hallway linen closet. My eyes were assaulted every time I walk by because of the shoeboxes, baskets, and plastic containers full of medicine, hair accessories, and makeup splling over. I didn't want to spend the money to get doors cut. I made several attempts at organizing the mess, but even at its most organized it was never pleasing to the eyes. So I decided to decorate it and display it like a curio.

I selected color coordinating photo boxes and painted the inside of the cabinet to match. I used my Cricut to cut out decorative embellishments and mod podged them to the inside frame as well as on some of the boxes to coordinate them. I used small candle holders to hold bobby pins and barettes. I downloaded a calligraphy font to label each box and sort of the medicines by ailment (cold and flu, pain, stomach, prescription and herbal).

This is the first stage of the transformation. Next will be to paint the top, outside, and drawers.
Because I used paint that I already had and paper for the Cricut that I already had, and I reused candle holders and baskets, I only spent $24 for the whole project.

Now I put things away because it's fun and instead of hiding my closet I can show it off!
